This Privacy Policy explains how Arif Ariyan ("I", "me", or "Riff Compiler") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit riffcompiler.com (the "Site"). I respect your privacy and only collect what is needed to run this personal portfolio and respond to your inquiries.

1. Who I Am

This Site is a personal portfolio operated by Arif Ariyan, a Senior Mobile Engineer based in Jakarta, Indonesia. For any privacy-related questions, contact me@riffcompiler.com.

2. Information I Collect

I do not require you to create an account or log in. Information is collected in two ways:

  • Analytics data (automatic). Like most websites, this Site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. This may include your IP address (truncated/anonymized by Google), device and browser type, approximate location (country/city), pages viewed, referring website, and time spent on the Site. This data is aggregated and is not used to personally identify you.
  • Contact information (voluntary). If you choose to contact me by email or WhatsApp, you share information such as your name, email address, phone number, and the contents of your message. I only use this to respond to you.

3. Cookies and Tracking

Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to distinguish unique visitors and measure usage. These are analytics cookies, not advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics entirely using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to use the Site.

4. How I Use Your Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its content.
  • To understand aggregate visitor trends and traffic sources.
  • To respond to messages and discuss potential projects when you reach out.

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

This Site relies on the following third parties, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Embedded content (e.g. YouTube subscribe button, fonts, and icon CDNs) may load resources from Google and jsDelivr, which can collect technical data such as your IP address.

Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's configured retention period. Messages you send me directly are kept only as long as needed to handle your inquiry, after which they may be deleted.

Depending on your location (including under the EU GDPR and Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law, UU PDP), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data I hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to opt out of analytics tracking. To exercise any of these rights, email me@riffcompiler.com and I will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date above.
